# Install Lightsage MCP in Codex

> Connect Codex to Lightsage MCP with a streamable HTTP server in config.toml.

Codex stores MCP configuration in `~/.codex/config.toml`. Use the Codex CLI to add the hosted Lightsage MCP endpoint and complete OAuth sign-in.

**1. Add Lightsage MCP**

Add Lightsage as a remote HTTP MCP server:

```bash theme={null}
codex mcp add lightsage --url https://mcp.lightsage.com/mcp
```

**2. Sign in with OAuth**

Start the OAuth flow and approve access to your Lightsage organization:

```bash theme={null}
codex mcp login lightsage --scopes openid,profile,email,offline_access
```

**3. Verify Codex tools**

Confirm Codex can read the server config:

```bash theme={null}
codex mcp list
```

The `lightsage` entry should use `https://mcp.lightsage.com/mcp` and show **OAuth** under authentication.

In an interactive Codex session, run `/mcp` to confirm the server is available.

Then run a read-only prompt:

```text theme={null}
Use the Lightsage MCP server to check my Lightsage auth status.
```

See the [Codex MCP docs](https://developers.openai.com/codex/mcp) for the full configuration reference.
